This Artwork is made from 100% reclaimed Native NZ Matai, a lush native timber rich in natural colour. SOMg uses an ancient Japanese technique of wood preservation called Yakisugi, involving burning the timber to create the deep black charred sections.
This Artwork is a beautiful combination of SOMg's talent with composition and his ability to celebrate the natural beauty of the timber. SOMg's work is all designed and made with his cutting edge sustainable ethos.
